We have four of them and they mostly come out at dusk. But…not today! Diane and I came home from shopping errands and lo and behold, two of the “babies” were at the squirrel feeder (4 o’clock). One of them was completely inside the feeder. That’s the first shot below. The one that was on … Read more
Coming home from a baseball game yesterday this bird let me within a dozen feet. I don’t really like the lens because the sharpness is just not there but…not too bad because I was so close. The critters are definitely settling in. We have baby squirrels that only come out at night. The momma raccoon … Read more
For a two or three weeks, well, maybe four, we’ve had a raccoon show up in the most un-raccoon like hours, for instance, 5:00 p.m. or 8 p.m. which are not “nocturnal” hours. She goes to the squirrel feeder and settles in for a meal. We can go out on the front porch and talk … Read more

My camera is four years old and sees a lot of action and is occasionally exposed to dust…well actually, exposed to dust and grime a bit more than occasionally. I think the worst is at a baseball game like today’s shot. This was actually taken with a backup camera which is a DX so I … Read more
So for the first shot, Diane, I was trying to create a definite vertical line…light and black. I’m sure there is a name for this type of shot, but the name escapes me now. I was using a two lights, an overhead “hair light” that was actually a beauty dish and a large softbox on … Read more
