Well, the sun is out and most of the roads are passable but some are only one lane. And, of course, everyone is absolutely positive that the single lane is just for them and the other person will wait. So…the kids have never been sledding. So, of we went into the wild blue yonder. After we dug through the garage and found the plastic sleds and frisbee thingees. Previously, these items had only been used in the driveway and it was extraordinarily boring. And I believe that the kids were thinking that a hill might be some fun but it could also be boring. They just didn’t know. We got there about 8:30 in the morning and we were the only ones there. I gave them some basic guidance. Like: to turn left, lean left. Little did I know that they would be going so fast that turning was pretty much out of the question. I also told them that they shouldn’t be afraid to fall off to stop. And that turned out to be spot on. We went on higher and higher hills until they were going on what they thought was the “ultimate”and it was fast. There was no steering. Stopping was by falling or by going up the hill in the ditch to the highway. They had a ball. We left at 10!
