I was sent to the desert outside Phoenix to look at a package for warehousing/accounting. It was hot. How hot was it? As they said there, “the chickens are laying hard boiled eggs.” Since I don’t really travel much, I didn’t acclimate well to the 3 time zone change and so was up before three in the morning. This is a sunrise shot overlooking the golf course next door. Actually 4 in the morning was the only time I can imagine people might play golf. The sun is coming up over the Superstition Mountains. Those mountains used to have a reputation for luring student pilots to their deaths during the 60s and 70s when Williams AFB in Phoenix was a big pilot training base. But that’s been gone for awhile now.
The shot below was taken a few minutes before sunrise. There were many birds and critters out before the sun comes up. I didn’t look for snakes, hopefully they were hiding somewhere else. But there were a lot of bunnies.
This last shot was minutes before the sun peaked out from the mountains.
