old town walkabout with kyle

Kyle was doing research on Robert E. Lee for a school report. He and I went to Old Town and started at Christ Church where he sat in Lee’s pew and saw where the Washington family sat. Then we walked over to the boyhood home of Lee. While walking we saw the house claimed to be the narrowest house in Alexandria. This blue house used to be an alley sometime in the 1700s but then someone walled the front and back and voile, a house. Supposedly there are still grooves in the walls of the house where the axle hubs of the wagon used to scrape the bricks. The other shot was just another bright blue house on this sunny March day. Should be cold and snowy but it’s not, and I’m glad.

That narrow house gives me claustrophobia just looking at it!! Nice blue color.
