My name is Joshua. Ummm, sorry….

When we were in the desert we went on a quest for the perfect Joshua tree. We weren’t really “OUT” in the desert since we were sort of still in town but the town is actually in the middle of the desert. You can get a better feel for our surroundings by checking our GPS location. Not sure we found it, not sure if there even is a “perfect” Joshua tree. We did have fun, though, wandering about this large stand of trees. Maybe it was even a Joshua tree forest. Don’t know. I worried about rattlesnakes. We all worried about flash flooding since we were in a “dry” riverbed.  There had been some huge rain storms during the last few days with flash flood warnings and for me, a desert rookie, that means I might see a flood like we saw in Universal Studios.  Didn’t see snakes and the floods held off, but we did see trees. Some folks think these things are ugly. I like the distinct, very unique look that the tree has among other tree types and that the individual Joshuas have among one another. What I mean to say…I think they’re cool. The Joshua tree is protected in California and (smile) I can assure you that no trees were injured in the shooting of this event!

OK, I’m gonna try this again. Your comment thingy doesn’t like me today. Tells me an error happened; try again. Had to laugh when I submitted it again and it said, “well, golly, we think you said that already!” Hysterical! Anyway, the gist of it was: great picture! Yes, they are unique and I still hate them. The good news is that they are all dying…….slowly. I won’t miss them!

OK…..they’re unique but still the ugliest excuse for a tree that I ever saw!! You’ll notice they’re all dying. Something about the environment doesn’t agree with them anymore. I won’t miss them! Nice picture, though. You captured all their ugliness perfectly! 🙂
