Flowers – HDR

Haven’t been out much lately to just take pictures so when I was working in the yard around sunrise, I decided to stop and take a couple of snaps. I chose flowers, which aren’t all that “dynamic,” because that’s pretty much what I had in the yard. Well, maybe not, but that’s what I shot. The 95+ heats has been real hard on them so they aren’t really in the best shape. I tried a little HDR to get them to pop out but didn’t go all the way to grunge. Just a light layer. The rose was interesting because of the new growth framed by the bright red petals. Or, at least it caught my eye. Well, I changed my mind and so am adding one more shot where I went into that little bit overboard place.

Is the last one, the purple flower the one you went “overboard” on? I think it’s very nice! It’s possible you might get that surreal, cool structure that you’ve got, but have a slightly less intense effect (more realistic?) if you cut back a bit on the blues and left everything else as it is. I like these!
