Robins – Babies and me= unhappy mom and dad

Today I took a three step stool out to the bushes so that I could get a little higher and have a better angle. I SWEAR I didn’t even touch the branches of the bush much less the nest or the baby birds. Said birds, by the way, look like something prehistoric. The mom bird was on the nest but didn’t want me to be there at all! She flew away and another one, the dad I assume, came roaring up to the top of the bush. I followed him as he led me away down a fenceline. At first, I thought this bird was the same as the bird on the nest but on closer examination of the beak, I can see it’s not. I wasn’t really close, I was using a 105mm macro, at f/7.3 and 1/640. Hopefully I can track them through their growth and they’ll stay out of harm’s way. We have hawks in the back that treat my neighbor’s bird feeder as if it were a buffet!

Love that camera of yours (& the guy behind it)! Baby birds are the ugliest things until they get their feathers. Have a great day!

It’s so precious to be able to follow nesting birds until the chicks fly away from the nest. Great photos.
