World War II Memorial — Bob Jones during Honor Flight

Uncle Bob Jones visited DC as part of a group from Southwest Minnesota. They were in an Honor Flight program that brings WWII vets to town to see the WWII Memorial and lots of other things.  Honor Flight donates EVERYTHING to these vets, flies them here, drives them around in buses, pays for their hotel, meals–everything. It’s awesome. All volunteers. They accept donations of time and money, if you’d like to learn more, visit their website. Uncle Bob Jones was in the US Navy on the USS Enterprise. He wore the CV-6 shirt while on the tour–a non-conformist (smile). He is in this picture, standing on the left in a reddish shirt. Uncle Bob Brandt couldn’t come on the California Honor Flight, he was selected but fell ill. We thought of him often as we walked together through the Memorial.

Hey cousin, so glad you could go with Uncle Bob and share those memories with him. Dad really wanted to go but was so happy to see your pictures. Uncle Bob to be sending him some soon.

Love to the family,
