Chicago Walkabout

I was in Chicago for a couple of days and had a chance for a quick walkabout. I wandered about the Gold Coast section of downtown, where Northwestern University is located. Nice shopping district. I took some outside-looking-in shots of a Rolls Royce/Ferrari/Bugatti/Bentley dealership. But was definitely underdressed for actually going inside. Each car had […]

Lee I love the first one. Awesome. You are getting better with every trip!

You’re the only one who could make Chicago “Golden”!! 🙂 That first shot is just amazing!! Not a fan of such tall buildings so I’ll be glad when you’re out of there & home again!

Whenever I say “Baseball” I always think of the Saturday Night Live line about baseball being very good…. I don’t mean that I sometimes think it, I mean all the time. Anyway, the team Kyle plays on is called the “Warriors” and they traveled to somewhere in Maryland (see hawks below) for their first game…well, […]

He looks more like you with every passing day!! Love the pensive look! Isn’t it wonderful how that DNA stuff works! Like getting to live your life twice!!

It’s so nice to have someone else to shoot with!! Thanks for sharing all of these.

Hawks Fight Over Snake – Fitting End for The Snake

I was shooting at a baseball game in Maryland on the first base line.  I heard a “Screeeech — Screeeech” and quickly turned around. About 100 yards away from me, the ball fields ended and transitioned to a wooded area. I saw movement and took four quick shots. The distance truly was 100 yards but […]

Nikki, thanks for the compliment! I took a Kelby class led by Jay Maisel. I use the same camera and walkabout lens he does (D3s and 28-300) and when he does street photography in Manhattan, he always shoots at 1600 because of the lower light situations that always seem to come up in the City. So, I’ve been trying it. Not sure how I like it but the increased shutter speeds do add one dimension that I’ve really gotten used to over the weeks I’ve tried this. I am lowering the ISO a little. Again, thanks for looking and commenting! Lee

Actually a question, do you always shoot at such a high ISO? Or just when your outdoors? Also, Eleanor Holcombe turned me on to your site – love it!!

Wow! What luck and what great shooting. I feel awful for the snake though.

Great Pictures.

Tampa Time

Off to Tampa. Did not have much time for exploring for photos and in fact had to break away at sunset to get these shots. Tampa was surreal. I think. Don’t really have any basis for comparison but the town seems kind of sparse. Lots of closed shops, no people, few cars. We were downtown, […]

I wonder where all the people went? Aliens? Ducking out for hurricane season? LOVE the pic of the buildings! Gorgeous glow and it definitely looks like a ship’s bridge to me, too. Wouldn’t have seen that without your wondrous way of looking at the world! So, thanks for a new outlook on buildings!!

9 – 11

I heard an interesting editorial on the radio yesterday–that we should use September 12 as the day we remember because we are a country of resilience and the day after is what carries our memories forward. I remember–like that day was yesterday. I remember how close the D.C. impact was to my family–my wife heard […]

Nautical Annapolis

I was walking about the docks of Annapolis a while back taking shots of things that caught my eye. Sailing has always fascinated me–not to the point where I would actually buy a boat or go on an open water cruise–but from an intellectual perspective, I really like sailboats. Whenever I look at a sailboat, […]

That’s WAY too much work for me! Heck! I can’t even keep the steering wheel in my car clean!! I must have really grubby hands! 🙂 Don’t like the ocean & don’t like boats so staying away from sailboats is no problem for me. I don’t have your philosophical outlook on the world!
