A Model At Last!

So there I was wishing I had a real person to practice with and lo and behold, Kelsey was done with the first part of her homework so I asked if she could spare a minute. She said she would and so I had a brief moment to get some real practice. I think they […]

Boy! Is she a female version of YOU or what? Cute kid! Love that smile! Nice of her to pose for old Dad! Is there a reason for the white sheet background? The coloring on Kels is great but the background is a bit stark…….to me, anyway……and what do I know! 🙂 Was thinking maybe a cream colored sheet. Nice job, Dad!!

The Cat Finally Posed

I am still working with the three lights and got the cat to pose for me since there is no one else around to carry the weight. I am still not happy with the result but am learning a little about power adjustments, shadows, dimension, etc.,etc., etc. And…she’s a good cat. Maybe I should give […]

That’s missy’s look of thought 🙂

Watch this……I correct things just like your wife! My typing these days leaves a lot to be desired……so make that “your lighting”. Thanks. Too much OCD in this family at times! 😉

Missy has such a peaceful face…..unlike our demon!! Bath, huh? I’ve tried that a few times when Alex was very little. Now? NO WAY!! He’s big enough to beat me up…..bigtime!!Arik will just have to take his allergy pills when he’s here! No bath for the wildcat!! You’re lighting is really good on this one! Look how well her golden eyes and the nuances in her fur show up! Great pic!

Three Lights & My Children Have Abandoned Me!!

It had to happen sooner or later–me trying new things and them not around. I guess it happens to all growing families. Sigh. Not so lucky the dogs and probably the cat in a while. This is a shot of Jazmine sitting on a bar stool in a three light setup. She has a softbox […]

WSLL Fall Ball Went Very Fast!

The season is over which is sad but the boys have come a long way in just a few short weeks. They seem to intuitively know what to do and they actually make an effort to get it done! It’s still a bit tough getting them to concentrate past an hour or so. Tonight was […]

First comment was after I just looked at the photo of Kyle; this one is after I watched the slide show!! Comment? ASTOUNDING!!! You did an amazing job, Bro, and I LOVE the choice of music! Was kind of expecting to hear “Take me out to the Ballgame” but “Eye of the Tiger” was much better! Caught that ball in mid-flight a LOT!! The expressions on the kids faces were just priceless! Enjoyed every minute of it!! Love ya!

The littlest Halvorsen is looking worn out! This baseball stuff must be hard on a guy! LOVE that shirt!

Lighting Practice (& Homecoming)

So I am watching some Scott Kelby training videos to learn about lighting. There’s wayyyyy tooooo much for me to remember. Well, maybe if I practice…at least that’s what I tell the family when i say, “Do you have just a few minutes to help me with my practice?” And, they normally will sit for […]
