Road Trip!

So at last, a road trip. The lad is going to a camp in the hills, it’s a winter camp and he was very excited. We dropped him off yesterday and will pick him up tomorrow. It’s about by Middleburg and so we decided to take some pictures. We drove around, went to a great […]

How sweet of those folks to put jackets on their horsies!! Diane always did have a thing for horses. It runs in the female side of the family! They say to get a horse to know you quickly, exhale gently into its nostrils. Then the horse knows everything it needs to know about you! Learned that from an ol’ trainer at the Fairgrounds behind the house in Xenia. Glad you had a great road trip and, as always, I love the photos!

Great images I like the 2nd one a lot.

Merry Christmas to All!

A wonderful Christmas Day. Santa visited early and the rest of the day has been fun and relaxing. Friends over for dinner and a few snaps once in a while. The first two are of the girls being Santa-like. The last is of a robin. I was outside when all of a sudden the tree […]

This IS December…….right? Tell those birdies to get their fannies SOUTH!!! We had to refill (and move) the hummer feeder. They’re still here…….not in Mexico where they are supposed to be!! The feeder got water in it from the porch roof run off… back under the porch by a few feet with new juice! Some of them were here all of last year, too!

The girls look so cute!! You’re a lucky papa!!! ROBINS????

Kyle Meets A New Friend

We went Christmas tree shopping yesterday and at the lot Kyle met a new friend. Not sure what type of dog it was but he was very nice. And very, very big! He probably weighed twice as much as Kyle. And evidently, he is fascinated by people’s ears! He wants to sniff them, his owner […]

A Bermese Mountain dog! How fantastic!! I love those dogs! If it wasn’t for the constant grooming thing, I’d get one! Too old to sit on the floor that long now. Sigh. Great pix!!

Working on lights – still

I am still practicing. I don’t have much room and the ceilings are just normal ceilings so the lights can’t be above the subjects! But hey, you gotta deal with whatever and it’s still just fine with me. At least I have ceilings! I asked the kids to pose and they actually did, even one […]

Hey, my cat came all the way across the ocean to your house! Missy really looks like the twin to our cat Alley. I like that picture the best too. I would suggest increasing the flash power and aiming it at a white wall to the left or right (or both) of the models if you don’t have high enough ceilings. It looks like they could use a bit more light in their faces. Walls make good diffusers. But I do like the quality of light you’ve got in everyone’s faces … beautiful catch lights.

SOOOO glad you got the new camera!!! Life is short…..go for the gusto!!

Great snaps……although Jaz and Missy look like they would have avoided it totally if they could have found a way! 🙂 The white background certainly makes your subject(s) stand out & I suppose that’s the idea…..but maybe it’s a little stark? It’s just my female “eye” that thinks that. Heh, heh……. Great job, hon!!

Long Wait

I haven’t been able to post much, well anything, lately. Don’t know where the time goes but was walking about yesterday and saw this robin taking a bath in a sheet of plastic. He didn’t let me get real close. I will add more shots of other innocents later this week. He doesn’t like me […]

The Cat Finally Posed

I am still working with the three lights and got the cat to pose for me since there is no one else around to carry the weight. I am still not happy with the result but am learning a little about power adjustments, shadows, dimension, etc.,etc., etc. And…she’s a good cat. Maybe I should give […]

Watch this……I correct things just like your wife! My typing these days leaves a lot to be desired……so make that “your lighting”. Thanks. Too much OCD in this family at times! 😉

Missy has such a peaceful face…..unlike our demon!! Bath, huh? I’ve tried that a few times when Alex was very little. Now? NO WAY!! He’s big enough to beat me up…..bigtime!!Arik will just have to take his allergy pills when he’s here! No bath for the wildcat!! You’re lighting is really good on this one! Look how well her golden eyes and the nuances in her fur show up! Great pic!
