Night Shoot

Last night I did a shoot of a “Flag Retiring” ceremony hosted by a local Knights of Columbus and group of Boy and Girl Scouts. The evening was very dramatic, the weather was outstanding, and it was very, very dark. I shot with and without flash, the withouts were taken at ISO 6400 and 12800. […]

That’s quite dramatic! Was there any lighting other than the fire?

Snowmageddon – This is quite the storm.

There aren’t quite enough words to thoroughly explain this weather–not that this weather would be a surprise to someone from South Dakota, Montana, or Wyoming…no, rather that this weather is here. Quiet, peaceful Virginia. Roofs are collapsing, people are without power, snow is FIVE FEET deep without drifting. I remember weather like this back in […]

I’ll bet you never thought you would have “snow days” off in Washington – WOW is right! We finally have some sun today so sending it your way. Predicting 77 by next weekend so we’ll be able to dry out – hope it reaches the East Coast so you can dry out, dig out and get out!!

Wow is right! The lower level of your house has virtually disappeared!! I wonder how long that stuff is gonna hang around? If it doesn’t warm up, you could be under snow a long time! Take care, Bro!! I hope you’re feeling better!! Give my love to everyone!!

The Day After — Wow!

I’m sick and shouldn’t go out but I had to get a couple of snaps. Bright sunshine. Neighbors were over helping to shovel out the cars. Unbelievable. An understatement.

Wow – what a storm!!!! We are trying to catch our breath out here in California from the storms – but……our snow so far is still in mountains – down to 3500 feet and over 30 inches of snow. More on its way tomorrow but great for Bob and Bobbies visit out here in not so sunny CA.

Keep on taking those pics – you really have a talent for it!

And I’m “choosing” to travel there this week…… Well, perhaps not!!!

Chris - February 7, 2010 - 1:36 pm

That’s ASTOUNDING!!! Hope no one gets hurt shoveling that stuff! Beautiful snap!! Wish I had a camera like yours!!

New York! New York!

We hit the ground on Friday and have been moving ever since. Walking. Walking. And, of course, the NY taxi. We’ve had fun and the weather has been pretty much okay. Yesterday, around noon the rain started and so we headed for the Museums. Ended up in the Museum of Natural History. It was great–and […]

More California Snaps – Another Sunset

You know, it dawned on me (is that an anti-pun?) that this sunset series just isn’t sharp. If there were a cheesy post card market, there might be a place for this shot. And the others. I’m thinking I need to bring the banjo back into the scenes. I just can’t seem to get the […]
