I am trying new things both in the studio and in post processing. Kyle and Diane were kind enough to give me an hour so of time yesterday and so I had a chance to try slightly off-subject lighting. I also tried a single light technique that Tim Coburn taught me. Things generally worked out with the lights, post processing is still a work in progress. I went to a Kelby class a while back, Joel Grimes talked about artistic photography and creating your own style. I don’t have that style yet…I’ll be messing around with my mind and my photos for a bit. Comments are welcome! The first shot is treated with some grunge and actually has many layers. I had to do the grunge in steps and try to preserve the blond hair. The second is an image I took of the Nationals Stadium, I overlaid a grunged Kyle and some other effects. Eventually, I will put the top one in another setting…not sure what, I am thinking perhaps an urban street scene.

Awesome photos! Kyle is growing up so fast!! He looks just like you, Bro! I didn’t understand one bit about the lighting but the photos are perfect so you must have gotten it right! I won’t even ask how you cut him out and put him in the b&w stadium!Love to all from the West Coast!!
