Water-Glass Music

In Old Town, on one corner down by the Torpedo Factory, there is often a musician who plays for tips and sells his CDs. He “plays” water glasses. Glasses that are different shapes filled to different levels. He wets his fingers and rubs the rims of the glasses and gets some pretty awesome sounds.  He’s been playing in different spots for years. The music is pretty cool and I love to hear the banter he carries on with the crowds. I love his hands…they’ve been doing this for years and when I took this shot just a few days ago, I imagined the hours of practice, the experimentation, the frustration and the joy. I think his hands tell a story, too; just looking at them, I can almost hear the music.Hands
