I had a few spare moments between logistic events and so went down to Burke Lake for a quick Lookabout. A large hawk was sitting on the ground looking out over a flock of Canadian geese, or probably in his mind…dinner. He let me get fairly close, to within 20 feet at which point I backed off because I was making the geese nervous and that would no doubt have made my model unhappy. I left him and went down to the lake. Not sure if he was rewarded with a meal but he was a great model! The second shot was actually from farther out, I felt like he wanted me to know that he was definitely aware that I was there, see how his head is turned 180 degrees toward me!!
