This tall bird, some sort of crane or egret or….whatever, I’m not sure, was posing for people at the Jefferson Memorial. The sun had just dropped out of sight and all that was left was the comfortable glow of God’s Golden Sunset. The bird was feeding and preening himself just a few feet from the walkway in the shallows of the Tidal Basin. Lots of people had their cameras, phones, and iPads and were snapping away. He just posed. All was well in his world. All was well in mine.
