Another year….ZOOooooommmmmm. Here we are again, braving the silt-filled depths of Lake Accotink. Well, literary license on the word “we,” since I am on the dock and Kyle is the one getting all wet. And actually, compared to last year, he didn’t get wet at all. I remember last year very well, Diane was bound and determined to be out there—in the sun, in the heat, in the pressing crowd—during the entire affair. No hair, chemo-weakened, etc., etc., etc. Not this year, that’s behind us now!The theme of the races this year was “Wildlife” and the team Kyle was on was named “Alvin & The Chipmunks.” They had a song and a dance for the judges before the race and just had fun doing the whole thing. The boat (actually made of cardboard!) made it through two races and they took first place both times. You can see Kyle in the front of the boat (note picture of Alvin the Chipmunk) quietly urging his teammates on!!
