Lots of activities here today. Last minute groceries. Cookie baking. Dinner making. Cookie eating. Christmas card writing. Yes. I waited until the very last minute to write cards. And I didn’t write many. I was working downstairs on some photos when I heard that our hawk was back. There is a large red tail (I think) hawk that enjoys our bird feeder just as much as the other (smaller) birds do. He comes, sits on a rock 6 feet BELOW the bird feeder just watching. We assume that he waits until he sees the “proper” course of dinner and then swoops UP onto them. He is relatively motionless during his vigil. He let me walk up fairly close. My front yard. Fifteen feet away. Not bad.
